The 5Rs to getting where you want, or are needed to go…
Feel like you're experiencing the same people problems and work challenges again? Know you need to change but equally fearful of what will happen, where you’ll end up and what you will have to do or give up to get there?
That's where my 5R framework comes in, providing a proven pathway as the result of working on a global scale alongside thousands of real people, facing real life experiences that once held them back, in fear and in resistance, and now allows greater autonomy, freedom and life to be lived.
Throughout decades of deep, and at times gnarly commitment to my own human development and transformation, concurrently working across numerous sectors and alongside thousands of individuals, organisations and communities, I've observed over and over the same or similar patterns, stories, scripts, blocks, resistances, consequences and outcomes emerge when we face obstacles and challenges.
Whether it's wanting the job, building a business, negotiating a relationship struggle, navigating a corporate conflict, withstanding the pains and chains of addiction, recognising an obsession but not understanding how to release it, or simply feeling distracted and disconnected but not knowing why or what to do about it, the process to getting where you want or are being led follows a natural flow and progression I've come to call the 5Rs.
Although a well-worn road, this isn't a rigid formula—it's intuitive, creative, fluid and adopts a humanness approach that allows and appreciates where you are right now, whilst imagining and then building the bridge to where you want, or indeed are needed to be, next…

This is where we look and listen. First, we pause, then breathe as we take an honest look at what's happening in both your internal and external worlds and the impacts and reactions affecting you, your family, team or organisation. What's working? What's not? Where do you feel stuck? Why? I create space for you to get clear on your current thinking, feeling and perspective that makes up your context and reality with consideration and calm and without judgement, labels or the propensity to rush into quick fixes. I believe the answers, solutions and wisdom you seek to every question you have lay somewhere within you, and it’s my job to help you uncover, discover and tap into those places we don’t often know are there, or we forget how to access when we need them most. I’ll teach you how to access your intuition, wisdom and self-knowledge to do this for yourself.

This is where we challenge and consider. When we're in the thick of a challenge, our view narrows and skews so does our clarity, so we shift perspective looking at the situation from multiple lenses, perspectives and vantage points. Labels, boxes, judgements and binary absolutes of ‘right/ wrong, good/bad,’ are welcome but not focused on. Together, we'll review and question your assumptions, belief systems, scripts, ideas and ways of thinking, feeling, working and being, that may be keeping you stuck in the past or projecting into the future, preventing you from seeing the truth of the situation and the answers and solutions required to resolve them. The seeds and gifts of wisdom and transformation are often found here.

This is where we get curious and creative. Possibility enters and we get excited about resolving the issue, challenge or situation, as well as using the experience as a learning opportunity and evidence base for what’s on the other side of the summit we’re traversing. What does your ideal outcome look like? What are the options and opportunities? How will it impact you/feel different? What will create meaningful change? Using simple and practical visioning and visualising processes and strategies, I'll support you to create a clear, achievable reality-based picture of what a successful outcome and resolution means for you. Success is defined and measured very differently for each person, organisation and community so together we’ll define those in perspective and context to you.

This is where we hone in and distill. Ideas need action and this is not woo-woo world where we talk for hours and then do nothing to make the necessary changes happen. No cookie-cutter, templated, off-the-shelf-one-size-fits-all dreaming here, instead we'll develop practical strategies that will focus you to be able to move forward incrementally and iteratively toward your vision, resolution, outcome and definition of measurable success. I'm big on real-world application, focusing on creating simple practices and processes that work for you, feel like you and that fit into your life and align your daily choices and actions with your deeper intentions, plans and motivations to get where you really want to go or feel you are being led.

This is where the rubber really hits the road and the ‘marathon-not-sprint’ philosophy kicks in. We work together to support you to commit each day to take and maintain incremental daily steps, actions and practices that will change your situation, perspective, outcome and/or provide the resolution to your specific challenge and context. We normalise that change isn't linear, as isn’t seeking a new reality or pattern of behaviour, as well as the fact that not all scenarios work out the way we want, aim for or hope they will. We'll identify and build in supportive structures that help you stay committed to your own course when ‘people do what people do’, resistance hits and spanners and curve balls get thrown in and about. This isn't about rigid, do-or-die discipline, shouty-orders, pointy-fingers or less-than judgements, but about cultivating and then growing a consistency, resilience and recommitment to what matters most to you, and yours.

This is where the pay-off happens. You get to pass GO and collect your version and definition of success and $200! The unique result, reward, resolution, transformation, we worked the 5Rs for becomes your living reality, however small, incremental or insignificant to some, is life-changingly impactful and seismically huge for others. For some, it's finding clarity amidst confusion, for others its negotiating and then repairing important work relationships, finding work that matters, securing the promotion or rediscovering your joy, purpose and meaning in your latter years. The results and rewards you’re proud of and have worked hard for are here and will be as unique as the more experienced, resilient and wiser version of you are now too.
